For the past 11 years, Akshat Raghava, a Delhi based award-winning designer, has been working and specializing in lighting design. In 2009, he graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design, USA, as an Industrial Designer and since then he has made it his mission to break stereotypes and improve the facets of design. In 2010, Akshat co-founded Beryl India, which offers complete design solutions to start-ups keen on launching themselves as top-notch brands in the Indian and International Markets. Concurrently, he partnered with several reputed Indian Manufacturers and Export Houses for Lighting Fixtures and Furniture.
As a person, he strongly believes in contributing back to society. Walking the talk, he has mentored and continues to mentor numerous young designers. Teaching them new concepts and techniques, Akshat has helped them evolve as designers. In 2018, he conceptualised a brand around high-quality hand-crafted light. For the past 3 years he has been dedicated to working with local artisans and craftsmen. The traditional handcrafting of these artisans and the introduction of new material by Akshat, creates a fusion of the best of both worlds.
Akshat believes successful design is simple, functional, sustainable, and explores the emotional relationship between people and technology. His motto is: “if you are enjoying the process, the results will reflect that.”
